International Baritone, Sebastian Catana, who last appeared at Pittsburgh Opera as Germont in La Traviata, will be donating his talent at a concert benefitting Caminul Felix, a Romanian orphanage.   He will be joined by the Waynesburg University Lamplighters Touring Choir, directed by his wife, Melanie Vaccari Catana, an alumna of the Pittsburgh Opera Young Artists Program and currently an Assistant Professor of Music at Waynesburg University. They will be performing non-gratis with all proceeds going directly to the orphanage. On May 8th, 2019, the Lamplighters Touring Choir will be traveling to Romania for their annual Service Trip. They will volunteer at the Caminul Felix Orphanage located in the city of Oradea, and perform benefit concerts in Oradea and Cluj.

The Caminul Felix Orphanage believes that the Family Concept is the key to unlocking a child that has been neglected and abandoned. Caminul Felix was founded in 1990 by Linda and Lars Hörnberg. Their vision was to care for abandoned children by providing them with families offering love and security. Selling everything they had in the States and in Sweden, they moved to Oradea in a small apartment and took four children in care. This is how Căminul Felix was born. Currently, sixteen Romanian families care for over 200 children in the villages of Caminul Felix. For more information visit

The Concert will be on May 6, 2019 @ 7:30 PM at the Southminster Presbyterian Church, 799 Washington Rd, Pittsburgh PA. Admission is Free, but a minimum suggested donation of $20 will be taken at the door.
