The Pittsburgh Steelers made the short two hour bus ride to Cleveland to battle the Browns on Sunday Jan. 3 which ended with a 24-22 Pittsburgh loss. With a playoff spot already secured going into week 16, Mike Tomlin chose to rest starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and a few key defensive players like TJ Watt and Cam Heyward to prepare for week one of the NFL Playoffs.

Mason Rudolph and Josh Dobbs stepped up in the quarterback position for Pittsburgh and put up a challenge for the Browns defense. Rudolph only threw one interception, which resulted in a Browns’ scoring drive. Despite the lack of starters, The Steelers defense stepped up, twice sacking Browns quarterback, Baker Mayfield.

It was well played game by both teams and sets up an interesting rematch next week. This time, the Browns will travel to Pittsburgh. It should be a much different contest with the Steelers’ starters returning. The game will be played on Sunday Jan. 10 at 8:20 p.m.
