Pittsburgh Current Podcast Network is the proud home of Crosscheck!

Crosscheck Podcast is a trailblazer on the front lines of substance abuse awareness! With relevant content, celebrity and notable guests every episode, and useful information – Crosscheck is the mainstream resource that listeners can tune into and get informed!
Crosscheck is part of Power Forward Inc, which is a MA 501c3 organization whose mission is to end the stigma of substance abuse through media, outreach and awareness.

The Crosscheck Podcast was founded and hosted by former Pittsburgh Penguins power forward Kevin Stevens, a two-time Stanley Cup Champion, NHL record holder and recovering addict. At the age of 28, he decided to try cocaine for the first time in the bathroom of a New York City nightclub and his life changed forever.  Kevin spent the next several years battling addiction and losing his grip on what should have been a Hall of Fame career. He faced several high-profile arrests, trouble on the ice and every other problem that accompanies addiction. Kevin went down a dark path that he never imagined he’d travel.

But if there was one thing that hockey and his upbringing taught him, it was to fight back. Determined to not give up, Stevens got sober and stayed sober. He relied on family, new-found relationships and a network in recovery to not just maintain sobriety, but to help others find it as well!

From his passion to help others and provide resources came the birth of his nonprofit, Power Forward, Inc. Stevens has dedicated his life to spreading the message of hope and changing the stigma of addiction. That’s what he does weekly on the Crosscheck Podcast through interviews, conversation and what Josh Yohe of The Athletic calls an “oddly entertaining” show. And now, Crosscheck can be found on the Pittsburgh Current Podcast Network.
