Visit the Homewood branch of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh to learn how to incorporate voice assistants — think Amazon Alexa — into the classroom. The event will show how voice assistants connect home to school and enrich children’s learning experiences by streaming music, stories and podcasts. Hosted by C.C. Busy, a start-up that uses digital assistants to assist with family care at home. 5:30 p.m. 7101 Hamilton Ave., Homewood. Free. 412-731-3080 or www.carnegielibrary.org

Friday, August 17
Perfect Wedding enters its final performances tonight at the Greer Cabaret Theater, presented by the Pittsburgh CLO. This comedy centers around Bill (Michael Greer) and Rachel (Hope Anthony), two soon-to-be newlyweds. When Bill wakes up next to a strange woman and has no idea how she got there, Bill begs his best man Tom (Tim McGeever) to pretend she’s his girlfriend. Hilarity ensues. 7:30 p.m. Through Aug. 26. 655 Penn Ave., Downtown. $44.75-54.75. 412-456-6666 or www.trustarts.org

Saturday, August 18
The Kelly Strayhorn Theater honors Gene Kelly, famous Pitt grad and song-and-dance man. This birthday bash features a matinee screening of the 1951 film, “An American in Paris,” where Kelly danced, directed, sang and choreographed. After the screening, there will be a reception with sweets to celebrate the famous Pittsburgher. 2 p.m. 5941 Penn Ave., East Liberty. Pay what you want. 412-363-3000 or www.kelly-strayhorn.org
