Fans of stand-up comic and former WDVE morning man Jim Krenn will be getting regular doses of the legendary radio host beginning June 17 when he joins the new Pittsburgh Current Podcast Network.

Krenn will record his popular No Restrictions podcast at the Current’s Beechview studio. Krenn was part WDVE’s morning show for 23 years before departing in 2011. Krenn’s podcast has produced 250 episodes since it debuted in March 2013.

The show will mix Krenn’s unique sense of humor with local and national celebrity guests to provide listeners and viewers with an entertaining and unpredictable program.

“My connection to Jim Krenn is the same as a lot of people’s,” says Pittsburgh Current Publisher Charlie Deitch, “he made me laugh every morning. In fact, I still shop at Pants N’At out of loyalty to Jim.

“We are beyond excited to welcome Jim to the Pittsburgh Current. In addition to our print and digital news, arts and entertainment coverage, we’ve been working toward the creation of new, locally produced podcasts. We have more to announce soon, and we couldn’t think of a better person to kick this off for us than Jim.”

As for Krenn, the funnyman is very happy with his new home. “I have been looking for just the right place to call home, and I’ve found it with Pittsburgh Current. No Restrictions is ready to kick it up a notch, and this is where it’s going to happen.”

In addition to the No Restrictions podcast, Krenn will also be working with Pittsburgh Current on creating new specials and events. Krenn sees a bright future for the partnership. “This is just the beginning.”
