Coffee isn’t the only thing always brewing at Pittsburgh Current HQ. We are working really hard to bring you a reader-first, influence-free publication that brings the focus back to arts, dining, music, event listings, and most importantly, YOU.

Issue two drops tomorrow. That’s right, tomorrow. Tuesday. With all of the amazing things happening in the city, your going to need our free event listing calendar to plan your week. Make sure you keep checking Currently@ to see where you can pick up your copy.

We are also thrilled to announce our newest writer, Brian Metzer. Metzer will focus on all things Penguins hockey. Metzer is currently the host of home game intermission reports for Pens Live Weekly, and does work for Penguins Radio Network. Previously, he covered Pittsburgh Penguins and the National Hockey League for Beaver County Times.

“We are so excited to have Brian on board,” said Charlie Deitch, editor and publisher of Pittsburgh Current. “Robust sports coverage is part of our mission, and Brian is the best of the best when it comes to covering the Pittsburgh Penguins. He will be bringing analysis and blogging about hockey on a regular basis.”

For his part, Metzer says “When Charlie Deitch and Bethany Ruhe launched the Pittsburgh Current I took notice. It was exciting to see a new entry in the market and one that would shake things up a bit. When I heard that they were looking for an individual to contribute Penguins’ content it was a no-brainer for me!”

Gah! “…’your’ going to need our free event listing…” *You’re* going to need a better grammar /spell checker! Otherwise, I hope you the best with the endeavor! 😉
