For the past several weeks, members of the press, elected officials and advocates for incarcerated inmates have sought more information about the Allegheny County Jail’s COVID-19 action plan.

Yesterday, an attorney for a federal inmate held in pretrial detention filed a brief in advance of the inmate’s Detention Hearing this morning that included the jail’s COVID-19 Action Plan. The individual, Donnell Warren, is seeking release due to the fear of a COVID-19 outbreak at the Allegheny County Jail. This morning the Current published a story outlining conditions at the jail according to several employees.

The brief, including the action plan and other jail policies, the county’s housekeeping and hygiene policy and the inmate worker policy. Portions of the document have been redacted by officials.
