Steelers Close Door on 2018 Season

By December 31, 2018 No Comments

In the minutes after the Steelers beat the Bengals 16-13 at Heinz Field, players and fans stood still and turned their attention to the video board and watched Cleveland drive the ball down field against the Ravens for a possible game winning field goal that would send the Steelers into the playoffs. It was quite a surreal scene as players all gathered to watch with more than 90% of the crowd staying as well. All the energy and anticipation was lost as Baker Mayfield was intercepted and the Ravens won. The players then somberly walked off the field for the last time in 2018 as the season had officially ended. Look for a story about what happened to the Pittsburgh Steelers this season in the next issue of the Pittsburgh Current coming out January 8th. Below are photo highlights from visuals editor Jake Mysliwczyk.
