Most people think the best part of New Year’s Eve happens at midnight, but before you head out to ring in the New Year, there are plenty of places offering a year-end dining experience.
Whitfield’s James Beard award nominated Chef Casey Renee will be serving up delectable sweet and savory pastries at a New Year’s English tea service on Dec. 29 at 4 p.m. The ballroom will be adorned by 4121 Main’s event designer Thommy Conroy. If a daytime celebration is your preference, this is the event for you. Tickets are $50.
A ticket to “The Last Supper” of 2018 at The Abbey also gets you into their Bohemian Rhapsody New Year’s Eve party. The four-course, prix fixe dinner features dishes like lobster and crab paella, lamb shank cassoulet, and beat and sweet potato gnocchi. The meal starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $100.
Shadyside Acorn is preparing a six-course, prix-fixe New Year’s meal for $110 per person. On Dec. 31, there will be a 6:30 p.m. seating and an 8:30 p.m. seating. To keep an element of surprise, the full menu won’t be released before the dinner, but a few of the dishes are dry aged duck, tartar and lobster with escargot. There is also the option to add a 5-course wine pairing for an additional $40.
Spending New Year’s Eve at Altius won’t just get you an exceptional meal, you’ll also have a picturesque view of the city. The prix-fixe $125 menu features starters like Lobster Thermidor or charcuterie. Entree options include rack of lamb, scallops, sea bass or veal tenderloin.
Eleven is offering a New Year’s Eve tasting menu of five courses, each featuring two options for diners to choose between. There will be oysters, tartar, poke, cavatelli, strip steak and trout. Dinner is $85 with the option to add wine pairings for $50.
Dine inside this recently remodelled 116 year old Bellevue house at any of three seatings on Dec. 31, starting at 5:30, 7:30, or 9:30 p.m. The prix-fixe, three-course meal comes with wine pairings and Champagne for $80 a person. Entrees include pork osso bucco and roast duck, with table-side Bananas Foster.
